What can I expect at Women’s Health Clinic?

We believe that every person is different and has a unique set of needs. Your assessment and treatment will be customized specifically your presenting issue. We will begin by taking your detailed history in complete privacy – we are quite cautious to the fact that these conditions are sensitive and might be difficult to discuss.

Your physical assessment will initiate by examination of your abdominal muscles, pelvis and lumbar spine – they structures house all your important pelvic floor muscles. Thus a dysfunction in one of these areas can cause in dysfunction elsewhere. If necessary, you might have to go through an internal examination. This is a really important part of your assessment as it helps to identify the strength and control of your pelvic floor muscles. Finger palpation is used to check your pelvic floor muscles and connective tissue is assessed for any injury or scarring. Your pelvic floor muscle will also be tested for strength and endurance.

Our expert physiotherapists will then develop a unique and customized treatment and exercise programme for you. The findings from the assessment will be discussed with you and treatment will be based upon those findings and your present symptoms.
